"The Quieting" book #2 in Suzanne Woods Fisher's The Bishop's Family series takes the reader back to Stoney Ridge and the characters whom live there. This book has family drama, family expectations, and issues within the church as well; all things that everyone deals with at times, no matter if we are Amish or English. Abigail is trying to help her father and pours herself into the genealogy research, while also dealing with pressure from Mammi. David is a good example of a Godly leader and there is much to be learned from him as well as he is trying to lead the community, but also stress the importance of working on God's time, not his or others. The relationships among the characters and their ties with one another add so much to the story, creating so many layers to the story and it was fun making those connections as a reader. I always enjoy Suzanne's books and this one was no exception and I am looking forward to book #3 coming out!
