Book Review - " Amish Proverbs"

Suzanne Woods Fisher has created a beautiful gift book, " Amish Proverbs - Words of Wisdom From the Simple Life." Fisher's book is filled with pictures portraying this simple way of life along with ancedotes and tidbits of wisdom. One of my favorite proverbs that is included in this book is "Faith is the bridge over which we can cross all the unknown waters of tomorrow." Especially in today's society and no matter what "group" we affiliate with, faith is something that we all need in order to face the struggles and hardships of everyday life and have something to get up for in the morning.
Revell Publishers were kind enough to provide me with a second copy of this book to give-away! If you would like a chance to win it, please leave me a comment with your family family proverb. I will choose the winner a week from today, Tuesday, September 7th. Good luck!

"Available from your favorite Revell bookseller."

It is better to be poor and honest than to be a fool and dishonest.

  2. I'm not sure if we really had any family proverbs, but my dad often had sayings for us to get our chores done, like "load light and go often" or "no work, no eat", and even "do it right the first time". Because of my perfectionist personality, I like this one best: "Measure twice, cut once". I find myself saying them to my own kids!
