About the book:

I Choose You Today: 31 Choices to Make Love Last (Abingdon Press, January 2015)

Married for nearly 38 years, author Deborah DeArmond and her husband have made the spoken declaration, "I choose you today" a regular part of their communication. It's when we least feel like saying it that we need to remind ourselves that love is a choice, not a feeling. I Choose You Today features 31 scriptural principles that support marriage and help couples develop healthy biblically based behavior.

Built on an introductory anecdotal story, each chapter has an inspirational takeaway of not only what to do, but how to begin applying the principles immediately. Thought provoking questions create talking points for couples to explore their own choices and experiences in each area serve to generate open dialogue of discovery. I Choose You Today is not a book of "shoulds," but one of clearly identified choices that each individual can make to grow their marriage and align it with the word of God. Every saying ends with a conventional wisdom quote.

My Review:
Each and every day and really in each moment we all make choices; choices that all lead to a result or consequence, either positive or negative.  Deb DeArmond has written a book encouraging couples to make deliberate choices in choosing each other and choosing to live each day in a way that will make their love last.  "I Choose You Today" has 31 chapters in it, and each chapter focuses on a specific choice to make to help couples.  I love that each chapter is so specific as it really allows your focus to be on that one thing, for example listening, really listening in a mindful manner.  Also, I really like the questions that are at the end of each chapter as this really forces you to reflect on your own relationship and how to apply the choice and concepts discussed to your own relationship.  This is a great read, as it broken down into many short chapters making it great to devote a few minutes each morning to reading a chapter and then having all day to really make it a priority and think about it.
I highly recommend you checking out the links I shared above as Deb as some great additional resources included that will really help you get as much as possible out of this book, but also living intentionally in your marriage every day of the year.
