However, she knows she must stay vigilant especially since he is a Yankee and she knows of their kind. Selah is not prepared for her heart becoming involved as well.
I loved this book! I have always enjoyed books set during the Civil War period and following after reading "Gone With the Wind" so many years ago. Beth does an incredible job with bringing this time period to life and the horror and fear that the war brought. I also love how she is able to portray the emotions of the characters and the hope that they experience and how they learn to trust and overcome the horrific events from the war. Selah and Levi are both great main characters who are easy to love and root for while reading. I am looking forward to book #2 in this series!
