Heart-wrenching at times, full of joy at other times. This is how I would sum up Marilynn Griffith's lastest novel, "Songs of Deliverance." If you are looking to read a happy book, one that is happy from start to finish, this book is not for you; however this really is a book you do not want to miss out on!
Have you ever felt as if you cannot go on or what is the point of trying as no one has faith in you anyways? This perfectly describes the main characters in this novel. However, one lady had faith in these four individuals which made all the difference in the world and helped them grow as individuals and also their relationships with Jesus Christ and those around them.
Griffith's character growth is amazing and you will learn a lot as you journey through the book with them. Each chapter changes perspective either from Zeely, Brian, Ron or Grace's point of view. I loved this style and approach as I felt that it helped me to connect with each of the characters better and really understand where each was coming from. The relationships and ties among not only these four characters, but with the other characters in the book will keep you guessing until the end when all the ties are finally discovered and/or created.
I have never read anything by this author before,as I had received this book as a complimentary copy from Revell, so I did a search on her to see what else she has written. Griffith's novel, "Rhythms of Grace" appears to be a novel that introduces these characters and provides the "background" to this story. It is not necessary to read "Rhythms of Grace" before reading "Songs of Deliverance," however I am curious to know more of the characters' stories and what brought them to the point they are at in the beginning of the second novel.

Hi there.. I am new to the BookSneeze site, and have just posted my first review today. I was wondering, since I have seen your name as a reviewer of many books, whether or not all the book that have been read from you, and others, of still able to be read/ reviewed.. or is it ONLY the availiable books listed( think there are like 5 maybe today? )that we can choose to read/review?
ReplyDeleteI didnt seen any answer specifically on the FAQ area, so thought I would ask the question to another reader..
I hope you can help me get the answer!

Hi Karen!
ReplyDeleteThe only books that you can pick from are the ones listed under the available tab. It seems that some titles are on there awhile, while others are hardly on there for a few days!! They are also adding more, so check frequently! :) I saw there are only 2 available today, so they should be adding more soon!! There have been 12 available at times!
I have gotten a nice variety of books, Bibles and Dvds from Thomas Nelson...you never know what they are going to post!!
I will have to check out your reviews!
