My Review:

All 4 of these new releases from Love Inspired are so good and enjoyable!  Each story is different, with different characters and storylines; however they all have a common aspect, they are all clean, inspiring reads!  Also the covers are also beautifully designed for each of them as well, that is always something I love about these books! 

To focus on just one of the books, I am choosing "The Rancher's Secret Child."  This book has it all, romance, family ties and a hint of mystery or at least the element of surprise!  Marcus is definitely surprised to learn that he is a father, and it's not to a newborn.  When his son shows up with his guardian, Marcus is shocked and feels his heart getting involved, not only with his son, but with this beautiful woman as well. 

The characters are all so likeable and it was easy to connect with them.  The storyline flowed nicely and I love the lessons and messages throughout....  Good can come from mistakes, there is no mistake too big that cannot be forgiven or moved on from and there is always hope and love. 

I highly recommend all 4 of these books, they are sweet, fast, inspiring reads that will leave you with a smile on your face!

 

"Breaking the Fear Cycle"

"Breaking the Fear Cycle: how to find peace for your anxious heart." is such a great read!  We learn and hear that God that is in control and we should not be afraid, worry or be anxious; however that is much easier said than done.  However, we CAN find peace in God.  Maria addresses how to overcome fear for good in our lives.  Each chapter is devoted to a different aspect, beginning with what is our greatest fear, what do we fear in our lives.  Then there is a chapter focusing on how we each have a choice or whether to fear or not, and take action to overcome this fear; this was a chapter that really spoke to me.  Each chapter builds upon each other and this is not a book to rush through reading as there is so much good stuff in it!  Each chapter ends with reflection questions, that could be used individually or in a small group setting.  I like the My Journey section that concluded each chapter as well which helped to really personalize it for me.  One quote that really stood out to me is: "When fear and anxiety go, so goes worry.  When worry goes, our outlook on life changes too," LOVE this! I highly recommend this book to read!

new Women's Study Bible!

This Bible is a beautiful hardcover edition!  It is truly a study Bible as it has so many features making it perfect to really go in depth as to what you are reading.  There are character profiles included which I love as there are individuals in the Bible that we all grow up hearing referenced; however there are some characters that  the name is thrown in somewhere, but nothing is really known, so this feature will be a good help with those minor characters.  Also there are boxes included throughout that include a "hard question" and "doctrine" which address a specific question or aspect that may be a tough thing to understand how it fits in with us today.  My favorite feature though is probably how each book begins.  First of all, the page is beautifully designed, but it also highlights a verse, discusses who wrote the book, time frame and setting for which the book took place and was written and also an outline of the book.  I love all of this as I feel like it can be confusing, especially in the Old Testament to follow who wrote what and how various events fit in with other events, so having these outlines and timelines with be especially useful.  I am going to use this Bible in my personal study time along with the Bible I am currently using which I journal in as there is not space in this Bible to write in the margins or alongside the text.  This Bible is going to be used greatly though to help gain a more clearer and deeper understanding in my study time.

"Storm Front"

"Storm Front" is book #5 in Susan May Warren's Montana Rescue series and I could not stop reading once I started!  It is a tense ride from the start to the finish as the PEAK team members find themselves searching for Chet and reuniting with people from the past.  Ty has not been able to get Brette out of his head and his heart over the past year since she fled from him; however he has sensed that she has been in trouble and he has felt the need to pray for her.  When Ty comes face to face with her he can tell  that she has been fighting some battles and the need to protect her and take care of her  flares up even stronger.  Brette has been spending the year fighting a battle and being a part of a storm chaser team trying to the get the perfect shots of the storms.  Brette finds herself with the PEAK rescue team and helping them to search for those individuals still missing in the aftermath of the tornado. 
While this book focuses on Ty as the main character, all the other characters and their storylines are continued as well.  Kacey and Ben must face reality and determine if and how their separate lives and lifestyles can be joined, while thinking of what is best for Audrey as well.  Pete has been working for the Red Cross and he is called in on the latest search and rescue mission and he and Ty still have unresolved issues from when they were working together and the hurt and pain involving Jess.  Gage, Ella and Ian are all still working on building a case to hopefully finally give closure to the incident that caused Ian's niece to disappear.  While each character is facing fears, making decisions that are going to be life-changing they are still working together as the team that they are and trusting God through it all. 
Susan ends this book with a cliffhanger and has me waiting anxiously for the 6th and final book in this series to come out in November!

"936 Pennies"

I have been trying to really make a point to be in the moment and really being an "intentional" mother.  When I saw the title for this book from Eryn I knew it was one I had to read: "936 Pennies: discovering the joy of intentional parenting."  The book begins with an explanation for the title as the pastor during a baby dedication ceremony handed a jar to the parents filled with 936 pennies and instructed them to remove one penny each Sunday after they return home from church as the pennies represent how many weeks they have to raise their child; 936 weeks from birth to age 18.  That number is a large number, but in reality it is not a lot and time flies.  I absolutely enjoyed this book as Eryn is completely relatable as a mother and I found so many things that were shared in this book so true for myself and areas that I am continuing to work on myself.  Time can crawl at times and sometimes you just need a break, a reprieve from the struggles of parenting, but yet these are times that can never be gotten back.  At the end of each section that are reflection questions that are thought-provoking, and ones that I found myself thinking about long after reading.  This book is a great encouragement to help parents, mothers in particular to feel not alone in the this role and an inspiration to really find those moments to spend intentionally with the children.

My Review:
I am a huge fan of Becky Wade's books, she is a must-read author for me, I have to read EVERYTHING she has written!  I have to say this new series from her is amazing! I loved the prequel novella and the format of how it was written and I felt that this was such a great way to introduce the characters.  Now Becky is delving into each sister's life in each of the novels in the series, really focusing on one of the sisters, but still furthering the storylines of the other sisters and the characters in each of them as well.  "Falling for You" focuses on the oldest Bradford sister, Willow.  Willow is a model and she is well-known, but she is taking a break from the modeling scene and running the bed and breakfast that her parents own while they are out of the country and until the new manager can take over.  Willow is content with her life at this point; however she finds herself in close contact with Corbin, her ex-boyfriend, after his niece asks a favor she just cannot refuse.  Willow has a soft heart and when she is asked to help solve a case from decades earlier she cannot say know as Willow and the entire Bradford family has suffered losses in their own life. 
Becky has done an incredible job with bringing Willow and the other characters to life; I felt as if they are real people and I want to be out sitting on the dock around the fire pit with the three Bradford sisters and sipping on the homemade Pumpkin Spice lattes in front of the fireplace at the bed and breakfast.  It is so easy to connect with the characters and empathize with them as Becky really writes portraying the characters' hearts and their internal struggles with the various situations and their relationships.  I found myself not being to put the book down once I started reading.  I highly recommend "Falling for  You," but encourage you to read the prequel novella and first book in the series as well.

"The Life-Giving Parent"

"The Life Giving Parent" is the latest book from Clay & Sally Clarkson and it is another great read!  Sally's previous novels focusing on home and the table and now following up from a parenting aspect is great!  I really enjoyed her previous books and now co-writing with her husband for this book was wonderful to add to this "series."  This book is divided into chapters, each one focusing on a specific area such as the child's mind, the child's heart and the child's will to name just a few.  I like how each chapter is narrow in the focus as it allows the subject to really be explored and discussed in depth.  There are so many different lines and sections that I have underlined and starred while reading that are things I need to reread and remember while investing in and raising my own children as well as the children I work with.   I like the tips that the authors share and their own personal experiences with implementing the tips and practices they do or have done in their own home.
